I’ve been having a problem where my PS3 locks up whenever it is playing a PS3 game. Sony troubleshooting said it may help to restore the factory settings. If I go that route, will it delete everything off the hard drive? Or will it just change the settings back (in which case it doesn’t sound like it will help)?

The case then after you restore and it could be the bluray laser going but hopefully it could be restored.
