This article is a quick guide for anyone who is wondering why the Sony PS3 is a superior gaming console to the Nintendo Wii.

Granted the PS3 carries the higher price tag, but once you consider all the heavyweight features it carries, not to mention its sound reputation as a durable piece of hardware, some of the sting is taken from the initial outlay.

Comparing these two consoles is a little strange. After all, the Wii is not strictly speaking a ‘next generation’ console, a fact that becomes obvious the moment you see the difference in the graphics. The PS3 is simply in a different league.

With PlayStation 3 specifications including significantly more processing power and memory (80GB) it means that aside of the immediately obvious graphically superiority, PS3 games tend to be much more involving and complex. Wii games in contrast are much simpler, sometimes this is in the consoles favour, but mostly it only enhances the opinion that Wii games often lack replay value.

Also it’s worth noting that the variety of games available for the PS3 is much wider than for the Wii. This is because the Sony PS3 is a true ‘gaming’ console. A PS3 owner will never be stuck for something suitable to play, either alone or against others. You could choose to play via the very capable PlayStation 3 online service or over at a friend’s house. Wii games are much more multi-player orientated and often require friends or family present to get the most out of them. The Wii is definitely a console with family or party entertainment in mind.

However, outside the gaming advantages the PlayStation 3 also comes with many other additional features, not least a blu-ray player built in. Blu ray represents the future format of high definition movie presentation, and a standalone player alone would set you back around £150-200, however as a PS3 owner you will have a fully fledged Sony player as part of the deal. Wii hasn’t even tried to compete; it doesn’t even play DVD’s.

The PS3 also comes with a good, free and most importantly fast Internet browser; again this is a department which the Wii simply cannot compete as you need to buy a browser separately.

Another bonus which most people don’t pick up on is the fact that you can help in the fight against diseases such as Cancer with the folding@home programme. This feature gives you the option of ‘letting’ out some of the PS3’s huge processing power to scientists who need to compute a mass of data in their fight to discover how proteins fold. Once again, Wii does not have a similar feature. Granted this will not be a deal breaker for many people, but it is a nice addition nevertheless.

I’m certain that across the board not many people would challenge the fact that Sony’s PlayStation 3 is the much more ‘multimedia friendly’ console. It can play music, videos and films and the hugely impressive PlayStation Network provides a whole host of free downloadable content, and firmware updates too. And I haven’t even mentioned features like PlayStation Life and the soon to be available interactive delight that will be PlayStation Home.

It’s clear that the Wii isn’t even trying to be like the PS3. It is a niche console which is aiming itself at people who aren’t traditional gamers. The PS3 is at the front-line of cutting edge gaming consoles and delivers BIG TIME in every department.

The Sony PSP 3000 is Sony’s newest advancement in mobile gaming. The 3000 is certainly an upgrade from previous PSP models. Right away you notice that the color looks sharper and brighter. At times in older models, when you went into a dark area in the game it became hard to see and navigate your way around the game. The sony PSP 3000 also features Skype, and built in microphone to further advance the PSP in online gaming. The PSP also has a great game lineup with many of your favorite titles from the original playstation as well as new titles. Many of these titles also offer graphics that are superb to titles available for the Nintendo DS.

While the 3000 is definitely a step in the right direction, that does not mean that the system is perfect. During graphic intense moments while gaming, the system often displays scan lines and even has some lag while it computes what’s going on. The screen also has problems of its own. If you are able to actually remove all of the fingerprints the screen seems to attract, you then have to worry about the glare. I don’t think anyone is sure why Sony isn’t using glare resistant screens with their PSP’s, as it has been one of the biggest complaints throughout their production.

In conclusion, if you own a PSP already, it’s probably not worth the upgrade. If you are considering buying a PSP, the 3000 is the best model currently available. The PSP 3000 is a step in the right direction, but the system is still far from perfect.

I’m planning on selling my xbox 360 arcade but I don’t know how much I should sell it for. This xbox 360 will come with a 120 gig hard drive, all the cords needed, wireless controller, memory card, xbox 360 live head set, and six games which are: grand theft auto , Juiced 2, rainbow six Vegas, madden 09, saints row, and the arcade games that came with it. So how much should I sell this for?

I’ve discovered many of these Halo cheats from experience and from other players online. The last time I checked, these worked. These aren’t exactly cheats in the Halo 2 sense but more weapon cheats/glitches. I’ll explain how to perform each cheat and its effect.

Each cheat has an associated button combo with it; the combo must be pressed as quick as possible. (Most combos require a primary and secondary weapon, especially if it involves pressing Y.)

Cancel Grenade Throw Animation-Press Y, LT, Y, to throw a grenade without the animation, which gives you valuable time.

BR Kill- RT, RT, Y, (wait a split second) B. You must be host for this cheat. This cheat will immediately kill your opponent.

Double Shot BR- RT, RT, Y. You’ll shoot once, change weapons, and automatically fire another round. So make sure your secondary weapon isn’t the plasma pistol.

Objective Instant Kill- RT, RB, B all at the same time.

This particular cheat has gained notoriety online, and there’s been many videos on it because it kills instantly.

Grav Hammer Glitch- Hold Y, RT, Release Y, Left Thumbstick and B. You want to begin with the Grav Hammer equipped. The last two button presses are right before the Grav Hammer is about to hit. This damages the enemy with both the grav hammer and a melee attack. (Source: Next Gen Boards) I should’ve prefaced the article with the fact that many of these glitches are looked down up by Xbox Live.

You probably won’t be banned, but it does look suspicious. However, I strongly discourage the use of any of these in tournaments or ranked matchmaking because they do make the game a tad unfair. For more Halo cheats, go to Halo Go Pro

The new 80gb model will not have PS2 BC and will cost the same as 40gb. It’s out due this Sept. Here’s the link to the story: http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/15/sony-cuts-80gb-ps3-price-to-400/
My guess is that they’re doing this for 2 reasons. 1) cheaper production cost and 2) hopefully make consumers buy the slim PS2, which allegedly Sony will keep making and supporting until 2012. Any wild theories about this?

Video gaming is a very big deal the world over. Whether games are played on computers, over consoles, via handheld devices or even over telephones, video games are taken seriously by those who love them. Offering challenges for the mind, hands and heart, games provide an escape from the everyday world and they simply can be a whole lot of fun. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 may have launched with some bugs, but the console’s popularity is incredible.

Next-gen consoles for gaming are different from their predecessors simply due to the hardware choices they offer. The 360, for example, offers some of the best graphic capabilities gamers have ever seen. Designed for fast-paced, beautiful play, this machine is more than just a gaming box. The next-gen features on the 360 include a hard drive in many of the consoles, online capability, information storage and more. They are meant to be used for gaming and a whole host of other things as well.

Thanks to some smart partnering, Microsoft’s 360 can not only handle game play, but also television and movie downloads. The console easily doubles for an extra DVD player, has a remote and more. Pretty much the only thing the 360 doesn’t do is windows. But, given time, Microsoft may come up with a way to make that possible as well.

The popularity of the next-gen machines is simply due to their superior graphic and playability features. Smooth and responsive, the machines are some of the best platforms going for game play.

Hot game types for the Xbox 360 include:

Sports games: A longstanding favorite of gamers, these include boxing, racing, football, hockey and more. Through 360 games, players can take on the persona of their favorite sports star or even head up and entire team. There’s also the possibility of playing with or against friends in remote locations through Xbox’s online service. This just adds to the fun.

Role playing games: These kinds of titles allow a player to create a new persona for themselves online or off. Typically heroes, players can get online and pal around with buddies from different parts of the country or the world as they take on challenges and bad guys together. Or, with a lot of titles, they have the option of going it alone, offline, as well.

Strategy: Ever wonder what it was like to be on a World War I battlefield. Gamers can get a safe taste of combat through these games. Or, if war games are to a player’s liking, there are plenty of other strategy games, including chess, puzzle games and more.

First-person shooters: These are games that enable a player to become the hero with the gun. Titles like Doom and Quake have made this genre a favorite among players of all ages. In these games, players are expected to move through mazes, battlefields and what not, shooting their way to victory while solving problems along the way.

The Xbox 360 was the first next-gen console on the market. Backed by the biggest software and game making company going, the machine is expected to only get better over time.

If your console has been struck down by the Xbox 360 ring light error then don’t despair! Today you are going to learn the simple steps that you must follow in order to fix your Xbox 360 3 light error woes as quickly and easily as possible. Here’s something you need to know- it really isn’t as hard as you might think to fix your broken Xbox 360 and banish the dreaded red ring of death forever.

One method of fixing the Xbox 360 ring light error you should never, ever, ever attempt is to use what is known as the “towel wrap trick”. This involves wrapping your console in a thick bath towel in order to fix the red ring of death. There are a number of videos on the Internet which show this method working. However, what they don’t show is that in the long run, this will cause far more damage as it simply makes the Xbox’s overheating problem even worse. It will, in the end, lead to far worse Xbox 360 3 light problems.

The best way to fix your Xbox 360 ring light is to use video repair instructions contained in an Xbox repair guide. This is essentially a digital download package of the necessary repair videos that you will require to safely, easily and quickly fix your Xbox 360 yourself. You don’t need to pay someone else to fix the problem for you- save money and time without a functioning console by doing it yourself.

You will need between $25-30 to get a repair guide online, which you can then watch over and over again until you understand what you need to do to fix your Xbox 360 3 light error on your console. To ensure that you get the best deal, get yourself a repair guide which has a money back guarantee in case anything goes wrong, free video samples so you can see what the product is like, as well as free customer support in case you experience any difficulties or have any questions.
